Quality Assurance Inspector (Pay Range $20 - $26 hourly)

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Inspector will create and execute the processes required to ensure our products meet customer quality requirements. The quality inspector will perform ongoing product and process evaluations, record inspection results and recommend improvements to the production process.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimal responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provides quality assurance support functions on the production line, and selects samples from lots of production, based on quality requirements. The inspection of those samples and the documentation of all inspection results pertaining to that sample will be maintained by QC.

  • Responsible for notifying the Director of Quality of any concerns: technical drawings for product, gauge /measuring requirements, all changes or deviations from procedures or policy and of any supplies needed to adequately perform job functions.

  • Works in cooperation with production departments.

  • Responsible for aesthetic and any dimensional inspection required by customers or K+K.

  • Conducts in-process and final inspections of various parts.

  • Performs necessary material inspection upon receipt of composite raw material, and to extend the life of such material if needed.

  • Assist production personnel on quality concerns and best practices to ensure the highest quality part. Helps resolve Quality related issues.

  • Responsible for carrying out final inspection requirements for all assigned products through the use of documented inspection criteria.

  • Responsible for carrying out incoming inspection of designated materials and tooling.

  • Responsible for record retention for all inspection paperwork and if applicable associated samples.

  • Uses surface plate, height gage, and hand tools to perform in-process inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies at various stages of operations.

  • Utilizes computerized equipment and software in the preparation of charts, reports, etc.

  • Works in a team environment and independently, on specific tasks and multi-tasks as needed.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to maintain close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, Adobe, EZ Label.

  • Proficient in use and calibration of standard measurement devices (scales, micrometers, verniers, height stick, and MagnaMic).

    Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2 years of experience in QA position.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g., assembly & packaging) preferred.

  • Familiarity with ISO class 8 clean room procedures.

    Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Work requires sitting, standing, and/or walking for periods of five hours or more, moving and examining objects at high and low reach, and reading for periods of three hours or more.

  • Minor lifting (20 lbs.), above average periods of standing and sitting.

  • Somewhat complex and repetitive tasks.
