George Capalbo uniquely understands broadcasting.
From a radio family, his father, George Capalbo, Sr., built Worcester rocker WAAF, for RKO Radio “The Big 68”, WRKO in Boston and broadcast stations nationwide.
Younger George, a WPI graduate, his career includes Prime Computer, Digital Equipment, and broadcast projects for Formula One Racing developing virtual advertising signage.
As CTO of Backbone Networks, George is architect and developer of Backbone's technology for integrated production, radio automation and streaming. He also coordinates live broadcast, such as NBA Summer League, Outside Lands Festival for TuneIn and at Telecast Fiber Systems where he served as director, until the company’s sale in 2009, Woodstock '94
On air, George produces a syndicated radio feature ‘The Technology Minute’, heard locally on Radio Worcester and WCRN Radio Westborough.
