The importance of diagnostic testing can help patients live longer and healthier lives when disease progression is managed, delayed, or ceased. Data can help in reducing or avoiding hospitalization as well as inappropriate medication use. This can benefit improved health outcomes, cost-containment, and quality of life. The treatment of chronic dry eyes has been challenging and lacked effectiveness. This quarter's topic will focus on affordable, accessible, and meaningful diagnostics testing and therapy options for dry eye conditions for local healthcare providers, medical professionals, and businesses.
Panel:
Dr. Ward is an eye surgeon and cornea specialist practicing in Provo, Utah at the Riverwoods Eye Center. Dr. Ward has a special interest in technologies that simplify clinical practice and improve patient care. He is interested in surgical innovation and has published novel methods for suturing intraocular lenses into the eye. He currently advises Aseptikits, LLC in their effort to simplify the preparation of sterile therapeutics such as serum tears and compounded eyedrops.
Dr. Chris is a chiropractic physician and certified medical examiner. She is the owner of Cherubino Health Center and serves as medical director for ARCpoint Labs Worcester and the director of medical communication for Scholar Rock, a biopharmaceutical company in Cambridge, MA association. Dr. Chris is committed to furthering interoperability and cooperation among healthcare providers and improving access to specialized and innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies.
Gauri Bhalakia is the President of ARCpoint Labs of Southboro and Worcester. Since starting ARCpoint Labs of Southboro in 2016, Gauri has worked with employers in public and private sectors providing assistance and risk mitigation, through pre-employment screening, policy assistance, drug and alcohol testing, DOT physicals, respirator fit testing, wellness and occupational health services.
