Please join the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce on September 17^th at 11:00 am for a discussion and presentation on how to construct new and existing buildings in the City of Worcester to meet the Newly Adopted Specialized Energy Code.

In September 2023 the Worcester City Council adopted the Specialized Building Energy Code as the mandatory energy code requirement for new residential and commercial construction. The Specialized Energy Code was developed by the Commonwealth in 2022 as an option for municipalities to make new buildings more energy-efficient. The New Code has been effective for new development since July 1st, 2024.

We are pleased to announce that we will have two presenters for our Roundtable. Our first is John Odell, the Chief Sustainability Officer in the City of Worcester, who will be presenting information on the City's Specialized Energy Code. Our second presenter will be the Building Evolution Corporation, who will present how to construct a building to meet the Specialized Energy Code.

The City of Worcester Office of Sustainability and Resilience is an office dedicated to enhancing the city’s environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The office focuses on initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change adaptation, and community resilience.
