Business & Government Forum - Assistant Secretary Ken Brown - Connecting New Arrivals to Employment
June 2024 Business & Government Forum
We invite our members to join the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, June 26th at 12 Noon for a discussion on the topic of Connecting New Arrivals to Employment, with Ken Brown, the new Massachusetts Assistant Secretary for Employer Engagement and Employment Outcomes.
In January, Assistant Secretary Brown was appointed by the Healey-Driscoll Administration to help employers in the Commonwealth to fill open job positions for newly arriving migrant workers who want to work. In his new role at the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, Brown will oversee the hiring and job placement for our new arrivals who have obtained work authorizations from the federal government. Brown seeks to connect our new arrivals with employment opportunities in the healthcare and human services, retail, hospitality, and manufacturing sectors.
Brown is a Patrick-Murray Administration alum, where he was the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment, and worked as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for Special Projects to Governor Deval Patrick. Recently, Brown was the Senior Vice President of SICPA North America.
